Biography
Pamela Kakande is a Statistician at in the African Centre for Statistics. Her areas of expertise include demography, social sciences and social statistics. Prior to joining ECA, she worked with the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, where she obtained vast expertise in implementing population-based research. She is committed to improving the use of data-driven evidence for decision making using cost-effective and timely approaches. She has provided technical support towards statistical development in selected African countries majorly through capacity strengthening in civil registration and vital statistics. She is associated with the Union for African Population Studies (UAPS) and the International Statistics Institute (ISI). She holds a master’s in public health and a post graduate diploma in demography.
