Biography
A member of the Decent Work Team, Ms. Kiaga provides context-specific policy advise to foster transition from the informal to the formal economy. A Tanzanian national, she has worked with the ILO since 2008 and behind various programmes that spearheaded ILO tools like Work Improvement in Small Enterprises (WISE) and Work Improvement in Neighbourhood Development (WIND). She has also coordinated, led, and managed both ILO-led and inter-agency, multi-sectoral, high-performance teams with expertise in various areas of critical to UN SDGs like youth employment, skills development, sustainable enterprise development, economic governance, and social protection – equipping her with a good knowledge of the programmes and operations of the ILO, in particular, and the UN, in general. Ms. Kiaga holds a Masters degree in Demography from University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and a Ph.D. in (Human) Geography from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, United States.
