Biography
Solomon started working as a researcher at the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), in the national wheat research program at Kulumsa Research Center. He had been working as a researcher, national program coordinator, and director of a research center. He then moved to TechnoServe (INGO) as a field program manager in the malt barley supply chain linking farmers with breweries. In November 2016, Solomon joined FAO Subregional Office for Eastern Africa (SFE) in Addis Ababa as a Crop Production Specialist. FAO-SFE is a technology hub that supports 9 countries in Eastern Africa (Burundi, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, and Uganda). Solomon's current work is on technical support for executing projects/ programs on crop production (seed, agronomy, and related inputs) in the subregion.
