Biography
Amir Obeid holds a master’s degree in development studies from SOAS, University of London, in addition to a post-graduate degree from the University of Cambridge in project management. Throughout his career, Amir contributed to the design and management of socio-economic development projects. His areas of expertise include; economic empowerment, youth employment, and local economic development.
Prior to joining the ILO in Egypt as the ILO PROSPECTS Country Programme Manager, Amir was in ILO in Sudan, as Chief Technical Advisor (CTA). Amir also worked with the United Nations Volunteers in Yemen. Earlier, Amir worked in international NGOs such as Transparency International in Germany, CARE and COSPE. Furthermore, he is one of the founders of the Fair-Trade Egypt Foundation.
