Biography
Afework Temtime is currently working as a Programme Management Officer at the Standards and Quality Assurance Section of the Strategic Planning, Oversight and Results Division of the Economic Commission for Africa. He joined ECA in 2000 and worked for over fourteen years under the ECA’s ICT for Development programme supporting member States in the formulation of national ICT policies and strategies. In particular, he served as a project manager for the "ECA-Finland Cooperation Programme on ICT Development in Africa" for six years. Before joining ECA, he has worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Ethiopia, International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), and the Ethiopian Science and Technology Commission. Overall, he has more than 25 years of work experience in the areas of ICT for development, information management and services, managing and coordinating programmes and projects at both national and regional levels, as well as quality assurance and oversight. He holds an MSc degree in Information Studies from Loughborough University of Technology (UK). He also holds a PRINCE2 Practitioner certificate in project management.
