Biography
Keiso Matashane-Marite is a Gender Affairs Officer at the Gender Equality & Women's Empowerment Section in the Gender, Poverty & Social Policy Division. Her areas of expertise include socio legal research, gender analysis, political and public policy analysis, in health, human rights and the social sector. Prior to joining ECA, she worked as a National Coordinator and Chief Researcher for Women and Law in Southern Africa Research and Education Trust in Lesotho. She was also a part-time lecturer at the National University of Lesotho, where she taught sociology. Recent publications include Gender and Elections in Lesotho, Beyond Inequalities: Women in Lesotho, Ringing Up the Changes Gender in Southern Africa Politics, Family belonging for women in Lesotho, sexual violence in Lesotho and lobola and its implications for women's reproductive rights. Ms. Matashane-Marite holds a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Wales, United Kingdom.
