Biography
Jalal Abdel-Latif is a Senior Social Policy Advisor of the Social Policy Section at the Gender, Poverty & Social Policy Division. His main areas of expertise include urban planning, business administration, project management and economics. Most recent publications include discussions on the political economy of complex emergencies, especially in Ethiopia, and on refugees? health service. Prior to joining ECA, he worked for the World Bank and for USA for Africa. He is associated with the Africa Studies Association, United States. Mr. Abdel-Latif holds a M.A. in Africa area studies with a focus on urban planning from the University of California.
